Basco is a moderate dog with good bone and powerful effortless ground covering movement. While I love to watch Basco on the move, one of his best attributes is his amazing temperament. He is a confident, eager to please, trainable companion and most importantly a member of our family.
With a handsome, masculine head, a strong lop line and a balanced body; this true and honest representative of our breed has left his “stamp” on the puppies he has produced. Not only do they all have Basco’s biddable, loving disposition they have continued his winning ways in the Conformation ring while training for Obedience, Service and Therapy dog titles.
At 8 weeks old I saw this boy moving across the lawn at Fran Smith’s of ValleyGold Kennels and I knew he was special. That special boy soon became known as Basco. That special puppy was slow to mature and only shown a handful of times in the puppy classes.
At two years old, I knew he was ready. His first weekend out Basco jumpstarted his show career with back to back Specialty Majors! Including a 4-point major under the esteemed Michelle Billings.
Finishing his championship just like he started, in a way I will never forget, with my dear friend Sherrie Grober, putting that last very special point on him. Sherrie is no longer with us and that day will always be a cherished memory. Basco then went on to finish his Grand Championship, again Owner-Handled and while shown on a limited basis.
Basco will be entering the ring on a select basis as a Veteran!
